Position Overview

Sentry Force Security is seeking professional, dependable, and highly observant Unarmed Security Officers to join our team. Officers will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment at an assigned facility while providing a visible security presence, monitoring activities, enforcing established procedures, and assisting visitors and employees as needed.

The ideal candidate is alert, physically capable, dependable, and able to remain professional while working independently or as part of a security team.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain a visible and professional security presence throughout the assigned property.

• Conduct routine foot patrols of interior and exterior areas.

• Monitor entrances, exits, hallways, parking areas, and other designated locations.

• Observe, identify, and report suspicious activities, unauthorized access, and potential security concerns.

• Monitor visitor access and ensure individuals follow established facility procedures.

• Respond promptly and appropriately to security incidents, disturbances, and emergencies.

• Communicate concerns and incidents to supervisors and appropriate personnel.

• Prepare accurate daily activity reports, incident reports, and other required documentation.

• Assist visitors and employees while maintaining appropriate security protocols.

• Follow all post orders, company policies, and client-specific procedures.

• Maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgment when handling sensitive situations.

Physical Requirements

This position requires an individual who is physically capable of performing active security duties throughout the assigned shift.

Applicants must be able to:

• Stand for extended periods, including prolonged periods without sitting.

• Walk continuously or for extended periods while conducting foot patrols.

• Navigate stairs, ramps, hallways, and various facility areas.

• Bend, stoop, reach, and move as necessary to perform assigned duties.

• Respond promptly to situations requiring immediate attention.

• Maintain physical alertness and situational awareness throughout the shift.

• Work indoors and outdoors, including exposure to varying weather conditions when required.

Minimum Qualifications

• Valid Virginia DCJS Unarmed Security Officer registration.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Professional appearance and customer service skills.

• Ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.

• Reliable transportation and consistent attendance.

• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.

• Ability to complete required reports and documentation.

• Must demonstrate reliability, integrity, and sound judgment.
